Acne is a universal struggle, but in the Philippines, it’s exacerbated by heat, pollution, and stress. Two of the most talked-about local products are QuickFX Pimple Eraser and Oxecure Blemish Clear. Both promise to zap pimples overnight, but which one actually delivers? We conducted a head-to-head test on 20 volunteers with active breakouts, applying one product on the left side of the face and the other on the right for two weeks. Here’s our detailed, side-by-side review.
First, let’s look at the ingredients. QuickFX Pimple Eraser contains 10% benzoyl peroxide, a powerful antibacterial agent that kills acne-causing bacteria and dries out existing pimples. It also has niacinamide to reduce redness. Oxecure Blemish Clear, on the other hand, uses 5% benzoyl peroxide combined with sulfur and salicylic acid – a gentler yet multi-pronged approach. Both are available in small squeeze tubes (15g) for around ₱300-400.
In terms of texture, QuickFX is a creamy white paste that spreads easily and dries down to a matte, almost powdery finish. It’s slightly gritty because of the benzoyl peroxide microspheres. Oxecure is a clearer, thinner gel that absorbs quickly without leaving a visible residue. Both have a mild medicinal scent.
During the test, we instructed volunteers to apply a thin layer on active pimples after cleansing, both morning and night. Within 48 hours, QuickFX users saw a dramatic reduction in size and redness – it was visibly more potent. However, it also caused some peeling and dryness around the pimple area, which is typical for 10% benzoyl peroxide. Oxecure took a bit longer (about 72 hours) but caused significantly less irritation. For those with sensitive skin, Oxecure was the clear winner in terms of tolerability.
After one week, the results were interesting. QuickFX had flattened most pustules and papules, but some volunteers developed new breakouts nearby due to the drying effect triggering compensatory oil production. Oxecure, being more balanced, prevented that rebound effect. The sulfur in Oxecure also helped to unclog pores gradually, leading to fewer new pimples over the second week.
By the end of two weeks, both products had cleared about 80% of active breakouts. However, QuickFX was more effective on large, inflamed cysts, while Oxecure performed better on comedonal acne (blackheads and whiteheads). Overall satisfaction scores: QuickFX averaged 4.0 out of 5, mainly for its speed; Oxecure averaged 4.3 out of 5 for its balance of efficacy and gentleness.
Our recommendation: If you have a major event tomorrow and need a pimple to shrink fast, go for QuickFX Pimple Eraser – but use it sparingly and only on the spot. For long-term management of mild to moderate acne, especially if you have sensitive skin, Oxecure Blemish Clear is the safer, more sustainable choice.
